Different county, different council — and a lot of Victorian brick

Rugby is in Warwickshire, not Northamptonshire, and its planning authority is Rugby Borough Council rather than West Northamptonshire. If you are reading general advice about driveways in Northamptonshire, the national planning rules are the same, but the council you would deal with over anything site-specific is a different one. Architecturally, Rugby is a Victorian town. The railway made it, and much of the housing stock is Victorian and Edwardian brick with the frontages to match — often narrower, often with a low wall or railing line, and usually red or red-brown brick.
